The tension between the Titanes Mayas and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lázaro Jeraldo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. 12 minutes into the match, Titanes Mayas's goalkeeper Lázaro Jeraldo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Puig. After 13 minutes Titanes Mayas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Tasis who took care of the corner kick. Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lázaro Jeraldo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Axel Tasis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Lázaro Jeraldo made a huge save. Eliseo Noboa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lázaro Jeraldo having to make a save. In the 19th minute, Axel Tasis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Ubaldo Urtungo's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ubaldo Urtungo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Titanes Mayas's Ubaldo Urtungo got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After 41 played minutes Titanes Mayas got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Urtungo. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Urbano Tavio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Titanes Mayas's supporters rose to their feet, but Urbano Tavio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Costa Rica were victorious despite being under pressure from Titanes Mayas for much of the match.
