In the 13th minute, Eldridge Marshall ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 20 minutes into the match, los nadies's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Camilo Isauro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Juan Laffitte kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joaquin Gayoso. That made the score 3-0 in the 23 minute of play. In the 27th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Beldad to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Bruno Beldad hit a great ball. The supporters of los nadies booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Beldad didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jude Bellinger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. Camilo Isauro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 35th minute of play. Juan Laffitte's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Joaquin Gayoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 38 minutes into the game, Juan Laffitte lined in a short shot 4-0 behind a frustrated Joaquin Gayoso. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juan Laffitte to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Laffitte in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. In the 63rdth minute of the game Juan Laffitte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maximiliano Escribano's late challenge caught a los nadies's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maximiliano Escribano helped the player get up and apologised. Maximiliano Escribano hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. When Juan Laffitte came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the los nadies fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Laffitte couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Gisbert during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Abel Koldobika didn't get a good kick on the ball. los nadies's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
