Maximino Acevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Correa in the 21st minute of the match. Luiz Guilherme Melo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Cristóvão de Barros scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arturo Bondi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 30 minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Luiz Guilherme Melo sent off a good shot on target.
