The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Kevin Mastache came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Colombia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kevin Mastache couldn't finish the play. 7 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Cordero came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Abram Sarmiento got a free kick in the 8th minute. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Orlando Tafalla hit a great ball. In the 11th minute of the match Martín Ferreyra shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Manzanares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Marcelo Cordero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelo Cordero in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Manzanares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 17 minutes into the match, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Marcelo Cordero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Cordero in the 19th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dražen Ladić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Dražen Ladić successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Abram Sarmiento kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dražen Ladić. That made the score 1-1 in the 33 minute of play. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Dražen Ladić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 35th minute of play. In the 42nd minute Marcelo Cordero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Donatello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Marcelo Cordero made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abram Sarmiento made a kick off. A collision led to Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Radu Popan hit a great ball. Axel Montenegro, 54 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Marcelo Cordero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT made a substitution. Maximo Bertol replaced Estevão Benevides. Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Marcelo Cordero sent off a good shot on target. In the 62nd minute, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Marcelo Cordero ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maximo Bertol during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dražen Ladić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 66th minute of play. Marcelo Cordero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. Dražen Ladić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Mastache, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Dražen Ladić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Mastache in the 76th minute of the match. A nice corner shot did that Kevin Mastache got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dražen Ladić quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Zheng Jing Feng took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zheng Jing Feng in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 83rd minute of play forced Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's goalkeeper Dražen Ladić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zheng Jing Feng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. Zheng Jing Feng took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Ignacio Mastache ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dražen Ladić was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-5. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zheng Jing Feng in the 97th minute of the match. The Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
