Válter Rodrigues made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Válter Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the match, GynBsb's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Válter Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kauã Melo was the one to do the kick off. Válter Rodrigues was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Agustín Saelices showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 54 minute of play. With a little luck, GynBsb's Válter Rodrigues got control of the ball when Luis Andino tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 57 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeremias Cerezo's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
