The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Dalman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dan Dalman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 20 minutes of play, ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's Narciso Xabat made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Tomas Illescas fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Tomas Illescas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dan Dalman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 29th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dan Dalman showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 30 minute of play. Dan Dalman's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Jonathan Ferrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Dan Dalman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. 41 minutes into the match, ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Victorio Cordarryl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Victorio Cordarryl was a little too slow when Tomas Illescas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 3-1. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tomas Illescas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Victorio Cordarryl firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's Jonathan Quin got a free kick in the 78th minute. 79 minutes in the game Patricio Costa did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tomas Illescas. Tomas Illescass short, quick shot in the 80thth minute got Victorio Cordarryl to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 83 minutes into the match, Jonathan Quin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonathan Quin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Luis Lleir managed to get in a good position for a shot. ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Lleir was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute Dan Dalman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Teofilo Lope hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
