NovaStella FK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Inocencio Lorien in the 53rd minute. NovaStella FK's Marcu Pantelimon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dante Lacasa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristoffer Ek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, NovaStella FK's Viktor Häll got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mexico walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
