Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Joel Gaona took the kick off in the first half of the match. Carlos Alberto Tevez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Mexico booed when National Team Cape-Verde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fredric Melander didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pål Sefastsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 8th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 12th minute of play forced National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Pål Sefastsson in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 14 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pål Sefastsson. Lautaro Mancebo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, National Team Cape-Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Pål Sefastsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Leoz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Tevez in the 21st minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Fredric Melander made a precise shot to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Lautaro Mancebo might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pål Sefastsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Mancebo ran back to his position shaking his head. Joel Gaona kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Pål Sefastsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 32nd minute. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after National Team Cape-Verde's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. 41 minutes into the match, National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Anton Vibjörnsson kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Pål Sefastsson made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target.

National Team Cape-Verde made a substitution. Bennvar Post replaced Carlos Alberto Tevez. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bennvar Post stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. National Team Cape-Verde's Pål Sefastsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, National Team Cape-Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Pål Sefastsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, National Team Cape-Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Pål Sefastsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute of the match Lautaro Mancebo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pål Sefastsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Klas Bergqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pål Sefastsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 70th minute of the match. Pål Sefastsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Facundo Cadaval, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 73rd minute of play forced National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pål Sefastsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 77 minutes into the match, National Team Cape-Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Cadaval came free, but Pål Sefastsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pål Sefastsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Pål Sefastsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 82nd minute of the match. Pål Sefastsson came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Alberto Tafalla. But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye National Team Cape-Verde's goalie prevented a goal. In the 91st minute, Facundo Cadaval left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mexico had won after a very even match.
