Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luisinho Barral to make the kick off. After having played for 57 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luisinho Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Junior Soprano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 61st minute of the match. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. The audience was convinced that Betão de Alcântara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Primitivo Andino made in the 75th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Primitivo Andino however managed to control. Junior Soprano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão de Alcântara in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Betão de Alcântara. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. HOSATO★★★★★VKRT's Tommie Barlow was substituted for Ronaldo Salah. If Betão de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Betão de Alcântara really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ecuador lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
