If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubio Zalaya having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sanid Škoro in the 37th minute of play. Rubio Zalaya made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute. 42 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rubio Zalaya was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sanid Škoro was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Ötüken Türk Gücü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hulki Sungur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rubio Zalaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 53rd minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faik Uludoğan, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Rubio Zalaya didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 59th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubio Zalaya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita scored 3-0 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rubio Zalaya, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rubio Zalaya. Rubio Zalaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 86th minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubio Zalaya didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ecuador had played much better football throughout.
