Iker Mincho came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luca Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iker Mincho having to interfere. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alvarado de Mar del Plata's goalkeeper Iker Mincho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Lorien in the 20th minute of play. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great ball. Iker Mincho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Mancebo scored 1-0 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iker Mincho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Iker Mincho made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. After 41 minutes Alvarado de Mar del Plata's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. At last the ball reached Joel Gaona at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Alvarado de Mar del Plata. 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Alvarado de Mar del Plata's Kang Feng was substituted for Jacobo Vincent. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. The supporters of Mexico booed when Alvarado de Mar del Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kang Feng didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iker Mincho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvarado de Mar del Plata made a substitution. Kang Feng's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Dante Lacasa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Iker Mincho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 70th minute of the match. After 70 minutes of play, Mexico's Luca Zorita made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iker Mincho was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Lorien in the 73rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Lorien in the 85th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Kang Feng had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kang Feng was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 91st minute.
