Aquilino Aguilera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 19th minute of the match, Doug Bermudez tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doug Bermudez in the 21st minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Los Diablos Rojos's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Aquilino Aguilera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aquilino Aguilera. Aquilino Aguilera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 29th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 32 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Doug Bermudez in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
