Kevin Kalfhage made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The audience was convinced that Olle Jönsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Christian Andreasson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The attack was good, but when Olle Jönsson in the 87th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal.
