Dalmai Zaldua made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 72nd minute. 75 minutes in the game Ruben Díaz did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Cristos Pescatori. When Ruben Díaz fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barcelona FC's protests and gave Ruben Díaz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Barcelona FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Ruben Díaz hit a great ball. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristos Pescatori, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute.
