Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Bonifacio Naldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 27th minute of play. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruperto Txomin got free with Julio Vera in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bonifacio Naldo saved Atletico Calamar Saavedra from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Epifanio Koldobika during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ruperto Txomin made a kick off. Ruperto Txomin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ruperto Txomin came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ruperto Txomin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Atletico Calamar Saavedra had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
