Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tadeo Sesuldo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Tadeo Sesuldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 12 minutes Club A. Chipa y Tereré's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. In the 14th minute, Paolo Tximitx ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeo Sesuldo having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Joaquin Gomesano in the 30 minute of the game. Tadeo Sesuldo didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. 54 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tadeo Sesuldo. Tomas Illescas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. A hard shot 61 in the game by Tomas Illescas from a close distance when the talented Tadeo Sesuldo managed to make a qualified save. Club A. Chipa y Tereré's players were relieved. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Tadeo Sesuldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club A. Chipa y Tereré's goalkeeper Tadeo Sesuldo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Tadeo Sesuldo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Club A. Chipa y Tereré's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Tomas Illescas scored to the left of an out of position Tadeo Sesuldo, making the score, 1-3. In the 73rd minute, Joaquin Gomesano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joshua Secada managed to, on his own, get straight through Club A. Chipa y Tereré's defense and in the 76th minute placed the ball to the left of Tadeo Sesuldo. 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Club A. Chipa y Tereré's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tadeo Sesuldo came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Club A. Chipa y Tereré defense, Tomas Illescas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tadeo Sesuldo. The Club A. Chipa y Tereré fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tadeo Sesuldo should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Tximitx in the 94th minute of the match.
