Breguete FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Eliseo Noboa 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. 14 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Toledo came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nathan Fernandes in the 16th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Costa Rica's Jefferson Souza threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseo Noboa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Costa Rica's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Axel Tasis in the 41st minute. Eliseo Noboa was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After 44 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eliseo Noboa to strike the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Breguete FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudinei Mesquita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Dias in the 66th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Filipe Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Breguete FC's Jefferson Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 70th minute of play. In the 75th minute Lautaro Puig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jefferson Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filipe Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Rodrigo Domingues took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. A collision led to Breguete FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Roberto Toledo hit a great ball. Manfredo de Queirós's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manfredo de Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute of the match Axel Tasis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jefferson Souza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 91 minutes into the game, Axel Tasis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Breguete FC the free kick. Axel Tasis kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filipe Dias in the 93rd minute of the match. 95 minutes had been played when some careless play by Costa Rica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Claudinei Mesquita was slow to take the kick. During this time Breguete FC's players had a chance to rest. Breguete FC played a much better game than Costa Rica and deserved their victory. The Costa Rica players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
