Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Róbson Messias got the match started through his kick off. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Rockets was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamin Mazza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Toninho Terra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abel Carballo's late challenge caught a Rockets's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abel Carballo helped the player get up and apologised. After 21 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. The supporters of Rockets booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Róbson Messias made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. After having played for 30 minutes, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseo Noboa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 32nd minute of play forced Rockets's goalkeeper Benjamin Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Róbson Messias in the 33rd minute of the match. Rockets's Benjamin Mazza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Rockets from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Rockets getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Raí da Silveira hit a great ball. Costa Rica's attentive Eliseo Noboa managed to snatch the ball when Júlio Pires made a throw-in in the 37th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Ronaldo Gol kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Lautaro Puig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benjamin Mazza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. If Gilvan Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rockets were winning 1-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. If Róbson Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the game, Róbson Messias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Messias in the 67th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 69th minute. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rockets's zone, Axel Tasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Mazza came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eliseo Noboa struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Benjamin Mazza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. After some careless play in the Rockets defense, Axel Tasis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benjamin Mazza. The Rockets fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benjamin Mazza should have stopped the shot. Rockets's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
