Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Efrain Moruga's late challenge caught a New England Patriots's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Sahnoyan Şah got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 6th minute. The score was now 1-0. Sahnoyan Şah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 10th minute, João Augusto Coelho fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Benito Sanz, passed just outside the right post. Gustavo Cordeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Efrain Moruga got his second yellow card in the match during the 15th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Gustavo Cordeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Jonathan Libertad managed to get in a good position for a shot. New England Patriots's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathan Libertad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valdomiro Nunes scored 2-0 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After having played for 40 minutes, João Augusto Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New England Patriots's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Augusto Coelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 43 played minutes New England Patriots got a freekick which was hit by João Augusto Coelho. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 55 minutes, Sahnoyan Şah made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fellipe Penha in the 60th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerrit Hardering breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerrit Hardering took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 70th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. New England Patriots's João Augusto Coelho got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valdomiro Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball.
