Venezuela's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Pēteris Schmeichel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After a rather tough play, Toro F.C's Hilario Baladi got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute Cyryl Rybak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Hilario Baladi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cyryl Rybak struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Toro F.C.
