When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Peru booed when Club Real Cantera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Ugutz didn't get a good kick on the ball.

A throw-in in the 54th minute of the game was made by Victorio Mosen with Emanuel Phelipe as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Club Real Cantera's Gaudencio Frichoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 59th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Phelipe got free with Rolando Noboa in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 81 minutes into the match, Luz Tejedor notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Club Real Cantera's Gaudencio Frichoso. Gaudencio Frichoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eliseo Mina in the 97th minute. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Eliseo Mina fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gaudencio Frichoso quite easily take care of the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Peru players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
