Loco De la Maza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 15th minute of play. Macos Graciani made in the 17th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Joel Gaona however managed to control. In the 20th minute Gianluca Vialli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Falckner FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alberto Tafalla fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 34th match minute when Mexico's Alberto Tafalla looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Loco De la Maza in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Loco De la Maza despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loco De la Maza having to interfere.

The crowd rose to their feet as Gianluca Vialli kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dante Lacasa. That made the score 2-1 in the 53 minute of play. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Gianluca Vialli sent off a good shot on target. The corner ended in Luca Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Falckner FC's Loco De la Maza did a great save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gianluca Vialli got free with Dante Lacasa in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Falckner FC's Loco De la Maza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 71st minute of play. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Falckner FC made a substitution. Jose Baldovino replaced Olaf Ciempa. The supporters of Falckner FC booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position.
