The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 90thth minute of the game Artūrs Sagalats who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Artūrs Sagalats kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
