Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A sloppy throw-in by Moisés Linhares in the 26th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Jose Correa. In the 41st minute, Samuel McQuarrie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isaltino Couto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radu Podgoreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moisés Linhares during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Danone CC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Linhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Danone CC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
