Thanks to some nice moves Fred Ferreira could shoot a difficult shot in the 15th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. In the 16th minute of the match Corumbaense F.C. got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dieguinho Neiva ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Dieguinho Neiva got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Luís Eduardo dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rayan Rodrigues hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Corumbaense F.C.'s Luís Eduardo dos Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 23rd minute of play. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fred Ferreira in the 26th minute. After 29 played minutes Corumbaense F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Natã Leite. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Luka Modrić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. After a rather tough play, Corumbaense F.C.'s Rayan Rodrigues got a free kick in the 45th minute. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Corumbaense F.C.'s zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Eduardo dos Santos came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Luís Eduardo dos Santos made a huge save. Luís Eduardo dos Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fabiano Neto in the 73rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luís Eduardo dos Santos, 1-1. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
