The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastian Villa got free with Trpimir Čaplar in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sentot Likumahua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. Honduras were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after -BZF- Chimia Buzau's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edmundo Espiga took the corner. The crowd rose to their feet as Honduras's Edmundo Espiga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Trpimir Čaplar. That made the score 1-0 after 31 minutes of play. In the 35th minute, Denis Tapalagă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Milagros Cabal hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Pompiliu Ghișerel made in the 42nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Nicodim Baștină however managed to control. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marian Gorunescu to make the kick off. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marian Gorunescu in the 60th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, -BZF- Chimia Buzau's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Tafalla came free, but Trpimir Čaplar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute of the match Horia Pavel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lautaro Navarro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Honduras booed when -BZF- Chimia Buzau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Mihăilă didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th match minute, -BZF- Chimia Buzau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Panait Piţurcă to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marian Gorunescu. In the 82nd minute, -BZF- Chimia Buzau's Dorel Dumitrana seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dorel Dumitrana the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of -BZF- Chimia Buzau protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dorel Dumitrana had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Trpimir Čaplar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentín Carvallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. A collision led to -BZF- Chimia Buzau getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Marian Gorunescu hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Trpimir Čaplar was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. After having played for 88 minutes, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Villa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 90 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Christian Sancho. Sentot Likumahua could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. Pompiliu Ghișerel hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When the referee ended the match the Honduras players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
