Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) FÊNIX F.C.'s Marquinhos Teixeira started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marquinhos Teixeira got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Jailson Favoretto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Jailson Favoretto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Marquinhos Teixeira struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FÊNIX F.C.. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Marquinhos Teixeira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bengt Bouchard went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bengt Bouchard in the 27th minute. Gilberto Leite's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Jonathan Ferrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Tomas Illescas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 41st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Bengt Bouchard struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FÊNIX F.C.. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marquinhos Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bengt Bouchard might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bengt Bouchard ran back to his position shaking his head. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute of the match Marquinhos Teixeira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Gabriel Damião in the 56th minute of play. FÊNIX F.C. made a substitution. Mauro Luz replaced Tiago Gabriel Damião. In the 59th minute, Pedro Luís Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Damian Fetor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. After 64 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. After 67th play minutes Tomas Illescas shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Damian Fetor and just under the crossbar into goal. FÊNIX F.C. made a substitution. Genílson Ferraz replaced Oswaldo Vaz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 75th minute of play forced FÊNIX F.C.'s goalkeeper Damian Fetor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Venezuela succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though FÊNIX F.C. had controlled the match.
