Hernan Ellande came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 21st minute, Cahit Eker left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Academia Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Luca Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hernan Ellande read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Hernan Ellande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Tafalla in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hernan Ellande prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernan Ellande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute, Yuan Jian left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. If Julio-César Dely Valdés had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mexico walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
