Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeo Rodas, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Mario Iturralde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lautaro Mancebo's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Florencio Velasco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dante Lacasa came out and tried to block the shot, but Florencio Velasco slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 15th minute. Amado Sayveon's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jamaicafastfoot's Conrado Cesario came free and shot a quick shot against goal 34 minutes in the game, fortunately Dante Lacasa had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jamaicafastfoot's goalkeeper Mario Iturralde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Jamaicafastfoot booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Iturralde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Jamaicafastfoot's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Mario Iturralde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florencio Velasco to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Jamaicafastfoot's Amador Tebaldo got a free kick in the 54th minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado Cesario in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Bautista Elvira made a precise shot to the right of Mario Iturralde. Jamaicafastfoot's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Florencio Velasco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Florencio Velasco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 83 minutes into the match, Jamaicafastfoot's Lucas Haritz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 91 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. 91 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Gaspar Mundo came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play.
