After having played for 3 minutes, Silverio Medardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. TALLERES's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silverio Medardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 5th minute. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Iker Medina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maciej Karwowski in the 22nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Silverio Medardo could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Gisbert during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 25th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Nuxila hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. TALLERES's Iker Medina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of play forced TALLERES's goalkeeper Iker Medina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after TALLERES's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Iker Medina in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Felix Montenegro put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Iker Medina. Iker Medina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 42nd minute. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Bennvar Björnfot kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Maciej Karwowski came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Maciej Karwowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Maciej Karwowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silverio Medardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when TALLERES's Silverio Medardo fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in TALLERES's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iker Medina came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Silverio Medardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 67th minute. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Iker Medina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silverio Medardo in the 72nd minute of the match. When Felix Nuxila fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TALLERES's protests and gave Felix Nuxila a yellow card for diving instead. Felix Nuxila kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 90th minute. The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
