The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Uruguay booed when The Heren Istarion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Khamzat Chimaev didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Elberg Azov took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Joaquin Gayoso to make any attempt to save it. After 15 minutes, Khamzat Chimaev made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 18 minutes into the game, when Kevin Carballal put in a rough tackle. The Heren Istarion's Lukas Drewitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camilo Franco in the 23rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Elberg Azov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Seco to strike the kick off in the second half. The Heren Istarion's Khamzat Chimaev got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, The Heren Istarion's Nicanor Iraido got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After 55 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Carvallo. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Arturo Carvallo hit a great ball. When Christopher Öberg came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the The Heren Istarion fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christopher Öberg couldn't finish the play. The Heren Istarion were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fred Amorim took the corner. Sven-Åke Samuelsson kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christopher Öberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69thth minute of the game Christopher Öberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christopher Öberg in the 75th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Seco during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Christopher Öberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95th minute The Heren Istarion were awarded a corner. Fred Amorim went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led The Heren Istarion's Christopher Öberg to fire away a dangerous shot which Joaquin Gayoso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
