An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 5th minute of play forced FC Dream Team's goalkeeper Albino Oskarbi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albino Oskarbi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Dream Team were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Laurentino Tavares took the corner. The corner ended in Laurentino Tavares almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 21st minute of play forced FC Dream Team's goalkeeper Albino Oskarbi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd match minute, FC Dream Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fodil Foder to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albino Oskarbi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albino Oskarbi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Dream Team's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albino Oskarbi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jardel van Beek spun around in front of the goal 35 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Ecuador's goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albino Oskarbi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th minute, Angelo Castanheira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albino Oskarbi having to interfere. When Alexandre Carvalhais came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the FC Dream Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Carvalhais couldn't finish the play. The supporters of FC Dream Team booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jardel van Beek to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Angelo Castanheira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Albino Oskarbi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Renan Demangeon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the FC Dream Team defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albino Oskarbi. The FC Dream Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albino Oskarbi should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the match, FC Dream Team's goalkeeper Albino Oskarbi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustín Saelices. Albino Oskarbi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Albino Oskarbi was a little too slow when Luis Andino got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 0-3. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Albino Oskarbi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. A collision led to FC Dream Team getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Roberto Pegado hit a great ball. Flávio Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Dream Team's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albino Oskarbi came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Albino Oskarbi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. FC Dream Team's Braz Tasso was substituted for Alexandre Carvalhais. FC Dream Team's Flávio Almeida was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 90 minutes into the match, FC Dream Team's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Albino Oskarbi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 93rd minute, FC Dream Team's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 95 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Albino Oskarbi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ecuador played a much better game than FC Dream Team and deserved their victory. The FC Dream Team players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
