The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pablo Martinez in the 8th minute of play. Salmuera CP's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Mariano Lacasa 31 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. In the 38th minute of the match Salmuera CP got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kiko De la Cuadra ran over to the corner to take the kick. Salmuera CP's Kiko De la Cuadra got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Casaus to maneuver through the defense. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mariano Lacasa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Chile defense, Pablo Martinez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. Salmuera CP's Ruperto Maria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 54th minute of play. Thiago Pliego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fan Xing Zhou went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 70th minute of play forced Salmuera CP's goalkeeper Ruperto Maria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Lacasa scored 3-3 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruperto Maria, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 82 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Torcuato Herrero came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Gerardo Pozo lost his temper 94 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Chile:s Thiago Pliego showed great skill when he stopped Kiko De la Cuadra:s penalty. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
