Bladi Soto started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alberto Gisbert fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uruguay's protests and gave Alberto Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th minute, Alberto Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lorenzo Insigne struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PALMEIRAS FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 10th minute of play forced PALMEIRAS FC's goalkeeper Peder Lefland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lorenzo Insigne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Bladi Soto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joaquin Gayoso. Bladi Soto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Ademir Tinoco hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. A collision led to PALMEIRAS FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Cristiano Boldrini hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Jaime Cazalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Cazalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peder Lefland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Seco in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peder Lefland prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Bladi Soto sent off a good shot on target. Bladi Soto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joaquin Gayoso came out and tried to block the shot, but Bladi Soto slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 31st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lorenzo Insigne in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. Peder Lefland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Joaquin Gayoso was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Lorenzo Insigne capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lorenzo Insigne really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. João Vítor Nunes struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PALMEIRAS FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bladi Soto got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lorenzo Insigne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

With a little luck, PALMEIRAS FC's Peder Lefland got control of the ball when Maximiliano Escribano tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Lorenzo Insigne had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lorenzo Insigne was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Ademir Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 61st minute of the game. One of Uruguay:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of PALMEIRAS FC:s goal. The referee gave PALMEIRAS FC a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Wiliam Goiano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. 5-0. 65 minutes into the game, João Vítor Nunes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Joaquin Gayoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When PALMEIRAS FC's Bladi Soto in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Uruguay's goalie prevented a goal. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenzo Insigne in the 71st minute of play. Lorenzo Insigne's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Ademir Tinoco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PALMEIRAS FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. The supporters of Uruguay booed when PALMEIRAS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademir Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peder Lefland made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 74th minute. In the 79th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peder Lefland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Gisbert hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiliam Goiano in the 83rd minute of play. Camilo Franco hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Insigne in the 84th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardinho Paranaense took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. 94 minutes into the game, Wiliam Goiano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Joaquin Gayoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 98 minutes had been played when some careless play by Uruguay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wiliam Goiano was slow to take the kick. During this time PALMEIRAS FC's players had a chance to rest. PALMEIRAS FC's Ricardinho Paranaense was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joaquin Gayoso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. PALMEIRAS FC had won after a very even match.
