With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santiago Palban in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Barrett saved Curacao from getting behind. Kyle Davies received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Armando Ugaitz came out and tried to block the shot, but Kyle Davies slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 22nd minute. The supporters of Atletico Español booed when Curacao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Troy Kennedy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atletico Español's Aristides Pirmin couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 28th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Curacao. In the 42nd match minute, Curacao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rocco Owen to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Curacao defense, Santiago Palban kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Barrett. The Curacao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Barrett should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kyle Davies made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Santiago Palban put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Bruno Barrett. Atletico Español's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carolo Txurio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romulo Sengrat helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th match minute, Curacao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rocco Owen to maneuver through the defense. Santiago Palban in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
