The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Hal Mackey in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hal Mackey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Western Springs FC booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cory Lowry made in the 90th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Frankie Russell however managed to control. For all the effort they put into the match, the Western Springs FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Chile.
