Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Yan Zonta took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 2 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bautista Quintero in the 5th minute of play. A collision led to Esporte Clube Pilar getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Virgílio Britto hit a great ball. With a little luck, Esporte Clube Pilar's Roch Orszak got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 11 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yan Zonta in the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute Esporte Clube Pilar were awarded a corner. Bautista Quintero went to the cornerflag to take it. When Claudinho Ramalho came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Esporte Clube Pilar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudinho Ramalho couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the game, Bautista Quintero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Roch Orszak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yan Zonta's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bautista Quintero in the 34th minute of play. After 36 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bautista Quintero who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert got a free kick in the 36th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Roch Orszak. Esporte Clube Pilar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Yan Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. After 62 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. After recieving a nice pass, Esporte Clube Pilar's Bautista Quintero tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Bautista Quintero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a free kick in the 77th minute. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roch Orszak read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roch Orszak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Yan Zonta sent off a good shot on target. 85 minutes into the game, Jose Correa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esporte Clube Pilar the free kick. In the 87th match minute, Esporte Clube Pilar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Telmo Silva to maneuver through the defense. Roch Orszak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Venezuela could leave the field as winners, despite Esporte Clube Pilar having more of the ball for most of the match.
