The supporters of Uruguay booed when AgroVet United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorato Pacifico didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Sainz to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paolo Gimenez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Casimiro Eneas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paolo Gimenez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, AgroVet United's Edgardo Mikeldi got a free kick in the 58th minute. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgardo Mikeldi during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
