In the 41st minute, Pastor Sagrario ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The referee felt a red card was in order, 46 minutes into the game, when Cristian Clementi put in a rough tackle. Cristian Clementi hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. 48 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pastor Sagrario to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dionisio Ondino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Pastor Sagrario sent off a good shot on target. The corner ended in Mauro Matos almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso did a great save. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pastor Sagrario in the 68th minute of play. After 70 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Seco. Jaime Cazalla fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 73rd minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Maximiliano Escribano kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Joaquin Gayoso stood somewhat misplaced when Pastor Sagrario came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 80 minute. Pastor Sagrario could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. In the 86th minute, Aureliano Loramendi fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 89 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Franco.
