Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the match, Raúl Nóbrega had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Through an outstanding action, after 12 minutes, Amílton Sá successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 13 minutes into the match, Taquaral Campineiro's goalkeeper Amílton Sá had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Puig. After 14 played minutes Taquaral Campineiro got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Baptista. Eliseo Noboa scored 1-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amílton Sá, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 21 minutes into the game, Geraldo de Godoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo de Godoi in the 24th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Geraldo de Godoi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. In the 29th minute Raúl Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geraldo de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato Guerra in the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd match minute, Taquaral Campineiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmir Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geraldo de Godoi to make the kick off. Amílton Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Geraldo de Godoi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Efrain Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Taquaral Campineiro's Armando Donatello slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-4 after 68 minutes of play. In the 82nd minute Raúl Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 83 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. After 84 played minutes Taquaral Campineiro got a freekick which was hit by Donato Guerra. 90 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geraldo de Godoi. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. When the match was over Taquaral Campineiro could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Costa Rica throughout the match.
