Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Juan-Carlos Gonzalo. That made the score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Juan-Carlos Gonzalo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juan-Carlos Gonzalo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Cristian Sancho scored 3-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juan-Carlos Gonzalo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lugo Saavedra charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lugo Saavedra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Atlético Bucaramanga's Lugo Saavedra got a free kick in the 20th minute. When Agustín Saelices came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustín Saelices couldn't finish the play. After 27 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juan-Carlos Gonzalo was left in no man's land by his defense there! 31 minutes into the game, Hulberto Arango was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético Bucaramanga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Juan-Carlos Gonzalo firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 35 played minutes Daniel Zorita rounded Atlético Bucaramanga's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 5-0. Cristian Sancho came free with the goalkeeper in the 38th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Juan-Carlos Gonzalo could save by the left post. A collision led to Atlético Bucaramanga getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Nabucodonosor Segundo hit a great ball.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Lugo Saavedra in the 51st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lugo Saavedra in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Atlético Bucaramanga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nabucodonosor Segundo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan-Carlos Gonzalo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nabucodonosor Segundo during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nabucodonosor Segundo hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Juan-Carlos Gonzalo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elixio Garros in the 82nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Lugo Saavedra sent off a good shot on target. Atlético Bucaramanga's Juan-Carlos Gonzalo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 86th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Bucaramanga's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan-Carlos Gonzalo came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juan-Carlos Gonzalo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ecuador fully deserved thier win.
