In the 9th minute, Daniel Whitley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neil Massey, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute, Abraham Alguacil left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panama fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neil Massey in the 24th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blaine Kemp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 62nd minute of the match. Darron Webb charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Darron Webb the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 65 minutes into the match, Tallahassee Vikings's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Blaine Kemp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 93 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that Panama were the better team. Panama's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
