Nemesio Sol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicodim Mangra, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauno Pirnes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Juan Sebastián Puig made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Hidrocarburo FC's Kauno Pirnes managed to reach the ball for a save. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Kauno Pirnes made a huge save. When Nemesio Sol came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Hidrocarburo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nemesio Sol couldn't finish the play. In the 56th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kauno Pirnes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Hidrocarburo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Ecuador walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
