In the 5th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Navarro to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Honduras booed when Breguete FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fábio Palmeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jefferson Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nathan Fernandes fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Breguete FC's protests and gave Nathan Fernandes a yellow card for diving instead. Nathan Fernandes hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Domingues came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Emanuel Ocampo hit a great ball. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamim Rezende, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Benjamim Rezende left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Breguete FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 32nd minute of play forced Breguete FC's goalkeeper Jefferson Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44thth minute of the game Rodrigo Domingues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Honduras players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Breguete FC were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Rodrigo Domingues made the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Rodrigo Domingues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Breguete FC and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 51st minute, Rodrigo Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson Souza having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Manfredo de Queirós in the 55th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Luca Espinar. After a defensive mix-up in Breguete FC's zone, Moises Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jefferson Souza came out of the goal and Moises Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jefferson Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Tafalla in the 61st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodrigo Domingues got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manfredo de Queirós made in the 72nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Honduras's Luca Espinar. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Nathan Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Breguete FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nathan Fernandes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Breguete FC's Benjamim Rezende in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moises Tafalla during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
