Taquaritinga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haroldo Dante should have stopped the shot. Edward Mcdonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Haroldo Dante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haroldo Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 9th minute of play. In the 13th match minute, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Lima to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute of the match USA got a corner. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cassius Byrne ran over to the corner to take the kick. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breno Loyola in the 18th minute of play. Haroldo Dante was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cassius Byrne showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. A hard shot by Cassius Byrne from long distance, 26 minutes into the match, got Haroldo Dante's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Clube Atl. Taquaritinga from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Monty Rogers took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Haroldo Dante to make any attempt to save it. After 34 played minutes Clube Atl. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Haroldo Dante successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 45 minutes into the match, USA's Cassius Byrne sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haroldo Dante narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aníbal Sá stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Clube Atl. Taquaritinga getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. David Lima hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 55th minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Haroldo Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. USA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cassius Byrne in the 56th minute. After 58 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Brown. Breno Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. USA made a substitution. Taquaritinga's David Lima seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed David Lima the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Clube Atl. Taquaritinga protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and David Lima had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 92ndth minute of the game Khalid Parry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 93 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Sá came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haroldo Dante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Baker in the 95th minute of the match. In the 95th minute Marco Baker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Campbell in the 96th minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Haroldo Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the USA players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
