Albino Nofre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 5th minute of the match. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Albino Nofre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. A collision led to Talleres getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Francisco Odilon hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albino Nofre saved Talleres from getting behind. Albino Nofre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play. Rodrigo Villagra hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Albino Nofre. Talleres's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustín Saelices was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Albino Nofre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luciano Gipuzkoa got free with Julio Vera in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Talleres getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Luciano Gipuzkoa hit a great ball. Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig pulled a muscle in his leg after 39 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 39 minutes into the game, Rodrigo Villagra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Talleres's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Ecuador made a substitution. Max Alvarado replaced Juan Sebastián Puig. Rodrigo Villagra kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Luis Andino notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Talleres's Albino Nofre. Albino Nofre was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Talleres were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fernando Laurgain took the corner. After taking down the ball on Talleres's corner Fernando Laurgain fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luciano Gipuzkoa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Ermengol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodrigo Villagra hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albino Nofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. In the 60th minute, Luciano Gipuzkoa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Francisco Odilon kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Talleres's Albino Nofre proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Talleres from getting a goal against them. Talleres's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Albino Nofre, making the score, 1-5. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 74th minute of play forced Talleres's goalkeeper Albino Nofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albino Nofre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Talleres's goalkeeper Albino Nofre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Talleres's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albino Nofre came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Talleres's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Cristian Sancho 81 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-6. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Ermengol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albino Nofre made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 93rd minute. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 94th minute. The audience was convinced that Luciano Gipuzkoa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Ecuador played a much better game than Talleres and deserved their victory. The Talleres players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
