After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Herminio Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Higinio Laurin kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Jonas Rioja charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonas Rioja the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jonas Rioja hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelino Cordarell in the 40th minute of play. Lautaro Puig scored 1-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benjamin Ekain, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 46th match minute, C.A. Delo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Dantel to maneuver through the defense.

Aaron Alcocer's late challenge caught a C.A. Delo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Alcocer helped the player get up and apologised. After 56 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. After 62 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelino Cordarell in the 66th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, C.A. Delo's Angelino Cordarell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After 75 minutes, Juan Rubio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the C.A. Delo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of C.A. Delo booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Angelino Cordarell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Angelino Cordarell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Siro Garci in the 90th minute of the match. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. C.A. Delo fully deserved thier win.
