When 龙邦威 fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 新世纪俱乐部's protests and gave 龙邦威 a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 played minutes 新世纪俱乐部 got a freekick which was hit by 龙邦威. The crowd rose to their feet as Haiti's Jonathan Alphonse slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of 范斌邦. That made the score 2-0 after 22 minutes of play. With a little luck, 新世纪俱乐部's 范斌邦 got control of the ball when Jonathan Alphonse tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jean Marie Alcius charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 93rd minute, Gesner Philippe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Haiti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. There was no doubt that Haiti were the better team. Haiti's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
