Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 3rd minute of play forced Corinthians's goalkeeper Jaime Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Cristiano Messi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Almeida having to interfere. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Cristiano Messi sent off a good shot on target. Jiang Yi Chong kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Corinthians's Cristiano Messi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jaime Almeida having to make a save. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Corinthians's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Ecuador's Felix Montes getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 28th minute Corinthians were awarded a corner. Ignacy Kinic went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that José Vítor Ramos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jaime Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 31st minute of the match. Ignacy Kinic's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 39th minute of the match, Cristiano Messi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Cristiano Messi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Vítor Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The audience was convinced that Cristiano Messi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Cristiano Messi hit a great ball. Kiril Biradzhiev hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute, Cristiano Messi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Jaime Almeida made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Corinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Şensoy Sualp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Corinthians's Jaime Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Corinthians from getting a goal against them. 86 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Messi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Corinthians booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, José Vítor Ramos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Corinthians fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 95 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Messi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristiano Messi in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
