Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Honduras's Edmundo Espiga started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hakem Al Khames got a throw-in 3 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Leif-Eric Albrecht. 8 minutes into the game, Hakem Al Khames threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Esteban Carvallo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 9th minute of play. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mesut Özil, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. August Hoffmanns made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 12th minute. Honduras's attentive Luca Espinar managed to snatch the ball when Hakem Al Khames made a throw-in in the 13th minute of the game. In the 14th minute, Edmundo Espiga made a precise shot to the right of August Hoffmanns. Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Hoffmanns having to interfere. In the 18th minute Anestis Kotsopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugo Haupt took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Anestis Kotsopoulos came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Rot-Weiss-Essen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anestis Kotsopoulos couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Moises Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Moises Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. August Hoffmanns breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. August Hoffmanns breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anestis Kotsopoulos kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anestis Kotsopoulos to strike the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mesut Özil in the 50th minute of the match. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans' excitement grew in the 56th match minute when Rot-Weiss-Essen's Anestis Kotsopoulos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice moves Hugo Haupt could shoot a difficult shot in the 60th minute, which Lautaro Navarro however easily saved by the left post. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Hoffmanns having to interfere. Hakem Al Khames made in the 63rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Honduras's Esteban Carvallo. After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Mesut Özil got a free kick in the 68th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Rot-Weiss-Essen's Anestis Kotsopoulos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lautaro Navarro. That made the score 1-3 after 70 minutes of play. 75 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anestis Kotsopoulos. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. August Hoffmanns breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. August Hoffmanns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
